Finally got around to editing my audiolog from America. Doesn’t quite make sense as a podcast, but what the hey!

Listen:
Download:
High Quality – East Coast, West Coast 128k, 44.8megs
Low Quality – East Coast, West Coast 64k, 22.4megs
While I was at the anti DRM demonstration at Apples 5th avenue store, I also interviewed a member of New Yorker’s for Fair Use, Jay Sulzberger. The interview was too long to include in the program, but if you’re interested in issues surrounding DRM, net neutrality or wiretapping, check it out below.

Having finally acquired an MP3 player that doesn’t crap out constantly, especially (and conveniently) when used with multiple PCs..I’ve begun listening less to music, and more to audio books and sound collages. Two I’ve thoroughly enjoyed recently have been the Paul Giamatti’s reading of Philip K. Dick’s science fiction opus, ‘A Scanner Darkly’, a stunning, and thoroughly different interpretation / characterisation that the recent Richard Linklater film; and Christopher Morris’s fusion of black comedy and esoteric music Blue Jam. I’d recommend both to freshen up your tired old playlist.
If you’re …

Noticed something interesting whilst pruning my wiki list of Irish podcasts (I think its complete, let me know if you find any notable absences) – virtually no podfade. I wonder if this is a uniquely Irish stubbornness. The only exception that springs to mind on the list is Liam Burke’s sadly demised Podato, the original podcast dating site, which to be fair was far ahead of its time – as illustrated by the growth of newer podcast / vidcast dating sites, like PodDater, recently featured on TechCrunch.
Edit: A question, does …

Anyone interested in the future of television, or more accurately, the post televisual future of web distributed original video content, would do well to check out Channel 101. We’ve reviewed the site before on Technolotics, but I think its worthy of a more in depth look, as it seems to be currently flying under the radar.
While sites like Youtube and Guba, may or may not have a future primarily as redistributors of broadcast content, they’ve done little to foster the creation of original work. In fact, by restricting the length …

Starting Wednesday, we’re making a brave and foolhardy attempt at setting up a digicast society in Trinity. All are welcome to come to the inaugural meeting, and non Trinity students are more than welcome to join – if and when the society gains approval from the college’s Central Society Committee. Here’s the spiel.
The proposed ‘D.U. Digicast Society’ would….
1) Provide students with an opportunity to learn how to produce podcasts, vidcasts, and blogs.
2) Work with other groups to distribute their creative work to a world wide audience.
3) Create an online forum, …

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about setting up a Trinity Digicast Society. This society would have a three pronged focus. One, facilitating the student production of blogs, podcasts and vidcasts. Two, providing learning opportunities for students interests in media production, citizen media, and digicasting in general. Three, Digial Rights Advocacy.
I’ve thrown some very initial ideas onto my wiki, contributions welcome!

Thanks to the inimitable Bernie Goldbach, Francis and I got to give a technolotics shoutout (recorded at the Blog Awards Podcasting Seminar), which was included in Adam Curry’s Daily Source Code.
If memory serves, Curry’s show is available on XM satellite radio in the states, where it has about half a million listeners. Sweet!
