Summer Dublin

Stumbling through the hot oiled streets of summer Dublin,
sun buttering our feet, wet from the recent rain,
distant, tight, light, but trailing you,
ill wicker back,
I’ll crank the model-t and write this later,
my rusty hands clutching the buoyant pens guide line,
my mixed metaphors confusing simple issues
